A long-time dancer and experienced instructor, Jessica took her first dance class at 9 years old and it wasn’t long before she fell in love with dance. At age 13, she intensified her dance instruction with Susan Hakes, former Berkshire Dance Theatre executive director and owner of The Brookfield School of Dance and The Studio. She has studied ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern, acrobatics, and choreography, and has successfully completed Grades I-VI of the Cecchetti USA Ballet Exams. Jessica is a 4 year member of the Dance Studio Owners Association Inner Circle training and mentoring program.

A 1999 summa cum laude alumna of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Jessica graduated with a bachelor in fine arts degree. She was employed a total of 12 years at the BDT; first hired as an office assistant, promoted in 2005 to Operations Manager, and in 2008 to also serve as faculty member. Jessica is a 10 year member of the Connecticut Chapter (#20) of the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts, Inc. (NADAA), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of dance professionals and students of dance. She has served as a chapter vice president (2 years), as well as chapter Secretary (4 years).
